We want this site to work for everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS X 8341-3:2016 that corresponds to it.
What we have done
- Tested every page with the axe accessibility engine in both English and Japanese, and fixed the issues it reported.
- Text and background colours meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum for normal text.
- Every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Focus is always visible.
- Images carry alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Headings follow a logical order, form fields have labels, and buttons say what they do.
- The site respects your "reduce motion" setting and has a skip-to-content link.
- Pages work at 320px width and when text is enlarged to 200%.
Known limitations
- Our booking step shows available times as buttons. It is keyboard operable, but if you would rather not use it, email us and we will arrange a time by hand.
- Some documents are PDFs; their tagging is less complete than our web pages. Ask us and we will send the content as plain text or a web page.
